Leaving Dong Ha or Hue early in the morning . Have breakfast at Aluoi Town . We continue to visit Hamburger Hill ( Apbia Mountain or Hill 937 ). In May 1969, American forces on a search and destroy operation near the Lao border fought one of the fiercest engagements of the war here , suffering terrible casualties . The battle lasted for ten days from May 10 to May 20 ,1969 between The US Army’s 101st Airborne and NVA Troops .- Short stop at LZ Beck -Down the hill , we’ll visit NVA ‘s NAM SON TUNNELS - Proceed to The NVA's Former Broadcasting Station . Proceed to Aluoi Airfield . Have lunch at a local restaurant in Aluoi .After lunch ,we drive to Ashao Valley where you can see lots of bomb craters on the airstrip. Visit to The Former US Special Forces base overrun in 1966 . The abandoned area became an important transhipment center for supplies coming down the Ho Chi Minh trail . Drive all the way back to Hue City or Dong Ha City( your hotel )
